Kettle Valley Railroad General Information
- Pack water, lunch, snack and wear sturdy footwear.
- The Section of the railbed from Myra Road to Little White Road (approximately 12 kms) consists of 18 trestles and 2 tunnels and will take approximately 4 hours to walk each way. Motorized Vehicles are not permitted in this section.
- Please use caution as all routes to the Kettle Valley Railbed are active logging roads.
- Please do not litter! Pack out what you packed in.
- Caution: Travel the Kettle Valley Railbed at your own risk.
Vehicles
Be advised that not all vehicles are suitable to arrive at the railbed. Once you get on the Forest Service roads it is more of a logging road, and four wheel drive is recommended.
Myra Road
Leaving Sports Rent you take Pandosy to K.L.O road, take a left on K.L.O follow it till it ends. It will split into East Kelowna Road and McCulloch, turn right on McCulloch. Follow the signs to Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Resort. Not long after the resort the road will dip down into a narrow canyon. Cross K.L.O creek, as you come up the other side watch for a powerline cut. This will tell you your getting close to Myra Forest Service Road on your right hand side. It is 8.5 km to the railbed from the Myra Forest Service Road Turn off.
June Springs Road
Leaving Sports Rent you take Pandosy to K.L.O road, take a left on K.L.O follow it till ends. It will split into East Kelowna Road and McCulloch, turn right on McCulloch. Follow McCulloch to June Springs rd. June Springs road will end and you will continue on the Little White Forest Service Rd. It is 4.6 Kms from the beginning of Little White Forest Service Rd.
Chute Lake Road
Leaving Sports Rent you take Pandosy. At the K.L.O intersection, Pandosy turns into Lakeshore Rd. Follow Lakeshore Rd to Chute Lake Rd. Follow Chute Lake Rd. until you get to the first right angle turn and that will take you onto Gillard Creek Forest Service Rd. Once you get onto Gillard Creek Forest Service Rd. It is 8 Kms to the Railbed.
